Barbour

Nel 2009 Barbour vince il premio come Best Brand of the Year.

Barbour is an English luxury fashion house founded in South Shields in 1894 by the hand of John Barbour. The company produces a multitude of fine clothing, footwear and accessories. The first designer of the company and founder of the Barbour style was Malcom Barbour (son of the founder) who in 1919 developed the first catalog, which would reach every corner of the United Kingdom. Following the death of John Barbour on 17 July 1918, the inheritance occurs to his brother Jack, however a few years later he resigns and becomes president Malcolm Barbour. In 1939 Duncan Barbour also joined the company, who would design a stylistic line for motorcycles, however Duncan was called to the front in 1939 and his wife Nancy succeeded him; in 1972 Margaret Barbout was appointed president. In 1974 Barbour was awarded the Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh. In 2008 Barbour won the Best Shooting Clothing Product award at the IPC Shooting Industry Awards. In 2009 Barbour won the Best Brand of the Year award. Today, after more than a century, Barbour holds the royal mandate for the supply of "waterproof and protective clothing" by Queen Elizabeth II who has been wearing this brand since 1974 for her walks in Sandringham or Balmoral. But it is not the communication of the Royal Family that loves Barbour, even the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales as well as the Dukes of Cambridge, Kate and William, wear the popular waxed jackets for their free time in Norfolk. Autumn is a very English season: humidity, cold, clouds The autumn jacket par excellence, for its insulating qualities, practices and a certain elegance, is the Ashby jacket by Barbour, a waxed cotton outerwear with padding in removable fur, loved by other Englishmen; from Prince Charles to the punks of East London in the seventies. The game Parka or the kevlar wax jacket, compared to the medium weight Ashby jacket, is warmer and more protective, which makes the appointment suitable also for winter. Usually those looking for a Barbour jacket want something of that classic olive green of origin. Barbour is also available in the classic military green or blue, a smart casual look is also more adaptable. An alternative to the down jacket, the Eskdale Quilted jacket is the quilted padding from the Barbour house, usually desired in olive green or navy blue. But there is the beige alternative to be seriously considered, especially to give light to the autumn outfits, less serious and more cheerful. This model dates back to the early nineties, therefore it would be perfect with a pair of white sneakers and regalar fit jeans. The brand therefore celebrates its "first" 125 years of activity and is considered one of the great menswear classics (and not only) and boasts a, so to speak, word of mouth that has been running for 5 generations.
